Walk The Westside?

I had a crazy idea this past weekend. I think it would be fun for Jodie and me to walk across the entire Westside in one day. The Rock Hall all the way to Avon Point. It comes in a shade under 20 miles.

She thinks we will never make it. Am I being overly optimistic?

We need Buzz Nation to help us decide.

Maybe if there were a charitable component, it would give us the extra boost we need to complete the journey…

Pizza Bagel Lady Rules Westside and Beyond 📍 Cleveland

Cleveland’s own Terry Thomsen, better known as the “Pizza Bagel Lady”, has quietly built one of the city’s most delicious success stories.

Starting with zero baking experience, she turned a West Side Market stall into the birthplace of the legendary Pizagel, a fresh, addictive, and proudly local twist on the frozen snack of our childhoods.

Today, her creations are in schools across four states, stocked in local shops, and still sold at her original market stand. You can keep your New York bagels and Chicago deep dish because Cleveland’s got Pizagels, and we’re not sharing.

Is Kyuramen x TBaar Worth a Visit? 📍 Strongsville

A new ramen hot spot opened up earlier this Summer and it is sparking some good ‘ole fashioned debate over whether Kyuramen is the best Ramen spot in Cleveland.

First the good: We’re talking architectural digest-worthy honeycomb booths, purple sweet potato fries, oysters, gyoza with the perfect crispy-soft ratio, and ramen so rich it will knock you into a food coma if you aren’t careful.

Now the not-so-good: Wait times can be erratic and unpredictable, with an average wait time of 30 minutes. It’s located at SouthPark Mall so if you don’t mind burning some time at Sunglass Hut, that should be a breeze.

How Do You Prepare Your Sweet Corn?

One of my favorite things in the world is the tiny plastic corn cobs with prongs that allow you to eat your corn without burning your fingers (totally worth it IMO). So much NASA-level innovation went into eating corn; have we taken a step back to think about how we prepare it?

I have only noticed friends and family boiling corn, but the internet tells me that steaming it preserves more nutrients, tastes better, and uses less water. What gives?!

Waterspout Spotted Wednesday 📍 Greenwich

In a tiny town, Greenwich on the far Westside, a somewhat regular but fascinating weather phenomenon was spotted on Wednesday.

According to the NWS, Waterspout formation typically occurs when cold air moves across the Great Lakes and results in large temperature differences between the warm water and the overriding cold air.
