Live music | STEAK X Sushi 86 Collab | Avon, Avon Lake May 6th Ballot
Happy Tuesday, Westsiders. Fresh off of watching SNL’s 50th anniversary Sunday night, it has me thinking of my favorite skit of all time.

Today we are buzzing on:
❄ Brite Winter gets ready to shine
🍣 A new sushi spot coming to Tremont
🤸♀️ W Sports Bar takes Banters place
We’ve got a great week ahead of us so let’s get buzzing.
Cheers,

Community Blend
🚦 Spectacular Vernacular | Lakewood

Lakewood always seems to be leading the way for creative community projects like this! The Spectacular Vernacular program is trying to engage local artists to transform ordinary parts of the city into an art gallery. After the success of last year’s bus shelters, they are aiming to beautify traffic boxes along Madison Avenue.
Lakewood city planner Amanda Cramer secured a budget of $33,000 for this project, and get this - they're planning to have artists decorate 42 traffic boxes! And that number might even go up if they can secure some additional grants.
Proposals are due March 21st, project awards by June 20th, and everything wrapping up (pun intended!) by September 30th.

STEAK X Sushi 86 | Tremont

The Westside Buzz Graphics Team
This Summer, a fun, vibrant sushi spot will pop-up on STEAK Tremont’s back patio. Jason Beudart of STEAK is partnering with Rachel Hsu of Sushi 86 to create a Tokyo-style vibe using STEAK’s outdoor space.
What to expect:
A fun, affordable sushi food truck
Whimsical cocktails
High-design & High Energy
I think this has the opportunity to give Tremont a fun, Instagramable spot that leans into the eccentricities of the neighborhood—Something I think it is sorely missing.

New Businesses
W Sports Bar takes Banter’s place | Gordon Square
Cleveland’s Gordon Square is getting a groundbreaking women-owned sports bar called The W Sports Bar. It’s taking the place of the recently shuttered Banter. The W Sports Bar, owned by the creative minds behind State Champs Streetwear and Brewnuts, aims to be a dedicated space where fans can gather to watch all sports with an emphasis on women’s sports.
Seven Sisters Home Market | Avon
Amy Whalen has something that most people lack (especially myself). I’m talking about the eye for interior design. She has years of experience curating quality furniture and decor and plans on selling them as pre-styled sets.
Our place is in desperate need of an update so Amy might be getting a call from the Briggses.
