The Cleveland Clinic Performance Center is being built | Local brunch spot made a US top 100 list

Together With

Happy Friday, Westsiders! Welcome to The Westside Buzz. It seems like Tuesday’s email hit a lot of spam folders (including mine). Just a reminder to add us to your contact list so you never miss an edition of The Buzz.

On Tuesday, we announced our fundraiser at Rozi’s in Lakewood with Voyager Wines benefiting the Cleveland APL! We made these sweet shirts, and 100% of the net proceeds go straight to the animals.

Check out the shirts 👉 HERE

Today we’re buzzing on:

  • 👷‍♀️ The transformation of The Flats.

  • 🥞 Which Westside spot made the US top 100 brunch spot?

  •  💃 39 Westside events to check out this weekend.

Let’s make it a great day,

Make this the year you invest in the smile you've always dreamed of 😁

Have you been thinking about improving your smile? Is it tough to figure out where to take your kids to get braces? Smiles are a big deal, so finding a doctor you can trust to get the job done is important.

The Westside Buzz is thrilled to partner with Dr. Ronald Kolodziej, Board-Certified Orthodontist.

For over 25 years, he's been creating amazing smiles at his Lakewood office, and his team of experienced staff are great at making sure patients are comfortable throughout their treatment.

Here are some of the things that patients like about Dr. Ron: he’s committed to educating his patients. There’s no rushing, no pressure, just honest conversations about what's best for the patient. And guess what? Most routine consultations won't cost you a penny. How refreshing is that?

Ready to invest in your smile? Dr. Ron uses modern technology and offers treatment with:

  • Traditional Braces

  • Cosmetic (Ceramic) Braces

  • Transparent Aligners

Why not take that first step? Trust me—your future self will thank you for it!

Give Dr. Ron's office a call today for your complimentary consultation 👉 (216) 529-8422

Ground has been broken, steel is rising | The Flats

From the days when the Cuyahoga River regularly caught fire to today's vision of building a lasting legacy along its banks—the transformation we're witnessing, especially poignant after Earth Day, is nothing short of astonishing.

Construction is moving right along on the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center along the river, with steel frames now visible at the site. This impressive 210,000-square-foot facility is the first vertical component of Bedrock's massive "The Riverfront" development and will become the Cavaliers' training center when it opens in 2027.

If you haven’t seen the plans for The Riverfront, see for yourself 👉 HERE

The larger vision includes transforming 35 acres of underused riverside land into a vibrant mixed-use development with 12 acres of public spaces, connecting Cleveland's downtown to both its waterfronts as part of Mayor Bibb's vision for a more accessible, vibrant city.

Former Avon football player passes too young | Avon

Jeremiah Kelly seen raising the 2024 State Championship Trophy

We normally like to keep things light here at The Buzz, but we are a community, and we pick each other up when times are tough.

Jeremiah Kelly, a freshman offensive lineman at UC, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday.

He helped lead the Eagles to their 2024 state championship, and most importantly, he was a special young man who was a bright light in any room he entered.

There is an outpouring of support on Avon’s Facebook page, and a GoFundMe has been started for his family.

Cleveland Browns Legend Joe Flacco, his family, and Slider

Nothing makes the “He Gets Us” meter fly off the charts like a Browns player bringing his entire family to watch the Guardians. That’s exactly what Joe Flacco did this week. I am focused on Cavs Playoff Basketball at the moment, but I will forever be Wacko for Flacco.
