HIDDEN GEM

🍜 Monday ramen pop-up is a certified winner | Old Brooklyn

When you have a taste for something savory, ramen is always one of the first things that come to mine and Jodie’s mind. She is a certified Broth-head who can turn $.89 Top Ramen into a gourmet midnight snack.

Monday nights in Old Brooklyn just got a little more interesting with the announcement that Never Say Dive Bar will be moonlighting as a Japanese ramen hotspot. Chef John Hagerty is excited to bring his 7 years of Ramen experimentation and experience to a fun and exciting new concept in a legendary Cleveland neighborhood. Full Story 👉 HERE

Here is what you can expect from their menu:

  • Perfectly soft steamed buns

  • Kimchi balls and yakitori

  • Authentic Tokyo-inspired cocktails

This sounds like the perfect spot to slurp away the Monday blues this summer!

NEW BUSINESS

New tavern concept to replace beloved brewery | Battery Park

Photographer: Dan Morgan

The patio at Terrestrial in Battery Park is one of those hidden gems only true Westsiders know about and can appreciate. Well, the Battery Park spot is getting a fresh start! Local entrepreneur Tim Adkins (you might know him from his Basement Sports Bars) has snagged the property and is wasting no time transforming it into Battery Park Tavern.

The exciting new vision includes not just one but two dining concepts under a single roof, with the tavern opening first (targeting June), followed by a small-plates eatery with lighter fare. Here is the part that we are most excited about:

A multi-level patio with gorgeous lake and sunset views!

Construction is expected to begin by month's end, so keep an eye out as this will be a hot place to grab a cold drink just in time for summer.

Former bank transforms into artisan marketplace | Rocky River

20000 Detroit Road, Rocky River

The Bank has opened its vault to creativity, transforming a former financial institution into Rocky River's newest artistic hub where a quartet of businesses now reside under one roof. This innovative space brings together Lather hairstyling, Remnants Bag Company (celebrating their second location after Chagrin Falls’ success), Nomad Well Travelled retail shop (featuring internationally sourced artisanal goods), and Shirley Vu nails.

What was once another boring bank branch now invests in local entrepreneurship, offering Westsiders a one-stop destination for beauty, fashion, and handcrafted treasures.

WESTSIDE POUR OVER

What else is brewing?

Avon: The city of Avon, Ohio is considering purchasing the local school district's administration building on Detroit Road to relocate City Hall.

🎥 Gordon Square: WTF Wednesdays at the Capitol Theatre is a new film program aimed at bringing weird and eccentric films to the iconic theatre.

SPORTS

The Cavs look to take care of the Pacers

After the most lopsided NBA playoff series in history, the Cavs take on a frisky Pacer team led by great shooting and depth. They also beat the Cavs three times this season, which ought to be a tad concerning.

Here at The Buzz, we have faith! If we play remotely close to how we did against the Heat, we should have no problem taking care of the Pacers in 5 games.

Get to know Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, and Miles Turner because you are probably going to be muttering their names under your breath for the next week or two.

Series Schedule:

  • Game 1: Pacers @ Cavs | Sunday, May 4th at Rocket Arena 🕛 TBD

  • Game 2: Pacers @ Cavs | Tuesday, May 6th at Rocket Arena 🕛 TBD

  • Game 3: Cavs @ Pacers | Friday, May 9th at Gainbridge Fieldhouse 🕛 TBD

  • Game 4: Cavs @ Pacers | Sunday, May 11th at Gainbridge Fieldhouse 🕛 TBD
