COMMUNITY BLEND
Today is National Bike to Work Day
For me, getting on a bicycle is the fastest thing that takes me back to feeling like a kid again. That’s why we at The Westside Buzz are fully behind National Bike to Work Day.
Not only is bicycling great for exercise, but it can also help relieve congestion on the roads and smog in the air.
According to the League of American Bicyclists, “Short-distance bicycle trips can replace car usage for many Americans, with data showing that 40% of U.S. trips cover distances of less than two miles—an ideal range for cycling.”
Bike Cleveland is celebrating National Bike to Work Day by offering up free coffee and snacks at locations around Cleveland.

Stop by the two Westside locations at 📍 The Detroit Superior Bridge and 📍 Madison Park.
I might just see you there!
Westside City’s ranked in the top 10th safest in Ohio
The great westside cities, Olmsted Township and Avon Lake, have landed the #3 and #10 spots on SafeWise's list of Ohio's safest cities - and this isn't just some random internet ranking, folks. SafeWise has been crunching these safety numbers for 11 years using FBI statistics.

Even if this guy was the one crunching those numbers, we all know that the Westside is the best place to live in Cleveland, let alone the entire state of Ohio.

SPORTS
The Cavs lost.

Pain.
DEVELOPMENT
Positive stadium news…NOT Brook Park | Gateway
Cleveland is the only top 40 city in America without a dedicated soccer stadium or one under construction. The Cleveland Soccer Group is trying to change that.
According to NEO Trans Blog, an important deal has been proposed to purchase the land known as South Gateway, where a dedicated soccer stadium would be built.

We are months away from a deal being officially agreed upon, but this is an exciting development in transforming a desolate piece of property into a brand spanking new stadium where men and women Cleveland pro soccer could call home.
With Cleveland getting a Division II Men’s and Women’s pro soccer team, Bob Smith makes the case that we could pay for it WITHOUT taxpayer money. That’s a refreshing take! Check out Bob’s opinion piece in Crain’s 👉 HERE.
NEW BUSINESS
Say bye-bye to buybuyBaby and hello to an iconic brand | Crocker Park

292 Main Street, Westlake
Bust out your duck boots and canoes, the iconic outdoor retailer from the northeast is coming to Crocker Park. This is a signal that the Westside has officially made it!
LL Bean will occupy the space left by buybuyBaby at the far end of Main street. This will be the 4th location in Ohio and the second in northeast Ohio. Crocker is making some big changes this summer.
