Top Golf Aims Fore September 2025 Avon Opening 🏌️♀️
Two things are close to my heart, the Westside of Cleveland and golf. Soon, the two of those things will be a match made in heaven Avon.
Top Golf broke ground on its 5th Ohio location on Chester Road between Planet Fitness and Duluth Trading Co. The Dallas-based company paid $4 million for the 13-acre site.
This is exciting news because it will bring about 200 new jobs to the Westside and introduce more people to the game of golf. Come September, you can grab your sticks and make fun memories for the whole family!
Cleveland’s Making Moves: Jobs and Housing in One Big Play 🚪
Cleveland is making power moves to tackle two big challenges—job creation and housing shortages. The city just launched an RFP (Request for Proposals) to attract modular home manufacturers from across the globe
They are trying to make a dent in the housing shortage and turn 25,000 vacant residential lots into affordable homes while revitalizing disinvested commercial properties.
The city is aiming to create jobs, boost manufacturing, and build quality housing faster and more efficiently.
With support from Mayor Justin Bibb, City Council, and the Site Readiness for Good Jobs Fund, Cleveland is turning the east side into a hub for innovation and growth. This project isn't just about homes—it's about creating a sustainable future for Clevelanders. 🏠 (Full Story)
Business Closing
It’s Closing Time for the Tick Tock Tavern ⏰
Clifton Boulevard will lose a historical landmark as the Tick Tock Tavern will close for business after over 75 years. Known for their St. Louis-style ribs, they have been a staple at the intersection of Clifton and W 115th.

I unfortunately never got to stop in here, but if you have any memories of the Tavern please send them in!

Former Cavs coach sells Avon Lake mansion 🏡
With the early season success of the Cavs, I had almost forgotten about JB Bickerstaff. That was until news of his Avon Lake mansion sold for $3.9mm.
He may not have been great at getting the most out of the Cavs in the playoffs, but he made out on this sale. He bought it for $2.6mm a few years ago for a tidy profit of $1.3mm.
Today In Cleveland Rock History
Try a Little Tenderness 🎸
On December 10th, 1967, Otis Redding’s plane crashed, killing him and all but 1 person on board. The day before, Otis played a legendary performance at Leo’s Casino and made an appearance on WEWS-TV.

Bring Your Shovel Lakewood 🧂
The rock salt distribution boxes are back at Kauffman, Madison, Cove, Lakewood Park, and the Dog Park for the 2024-2025 season. Here’s the deal: you can grab up to 5 gallons of salt to keep your driveways and sidewalks slip-free.
What you need👉 A bucket, a shovel, and some elbow grease.
Don’t forget to secure the lid when you’re done—no one wants a giant salt clump when the rain hits. Stay salty, Lakewood!
